My journey into coffee started with a single cup. I remember my first pour over that completely changed the way I thought about coffee. That moment sparked a curiosity that quickly turned into an obsession with learning about the craft. Not long after, I opened my first roasting business, beginning a journey that would lead me deeper into brewing, roasting, competing, and building cafes. In 2025, that path led me to win the U.S. AeroPress Championship and represent the United States at the World AeroPress Championship — an experience that reinforced my belief that coffee is both a craft and a constant process of learning.

Over time a few things have become clear to me: great coffee should be allowed to speak for itself, coffee should be approachable and meet people where they are, and every cup carries a story of the farmers and producers who make it possible. At its core, coffee is also something simple — a vehicle for connection. My partner Ela and I built Goldchild Coffee Roasters around those ideas, inspired by the Swedish ritual of fika and the belief that coffee is timeless. Today that philosophy guides everything we’re building, including Champions of Coffee, a platform currently in development focused on sharing real coffee knowledge and helping move the modern coffee competition world forward.
